Description

Condumel is an eight-unit condominium complex, just a short 10-minute walk north of town. Its design was inspired by pre-Columbian Mayan architecture, but you will find all the modern amenities you will need on the inside. Built right on the oceanfront, there is nothing between you and the magnificent views of the Caribbean Sea and the incredible sunsets. Lounge on the man-made sandy beach under the thatch-roofed palapa or let the sway of one of the hammocks hung beneath the palms lull you to sleep. Snorkel or dive from shore to discover the incredible sea life panorama. Cook lunch or dinner on the beach on the charcoal grill or take the lighted walking path to town to savor the local cuisine from the many restaurants Cozumel has to offer.

All of Condumel’s condos have the same open concept floor-plan that offers an ocean view from anywhere you stand. The sunken living room has two large sofas that can be used as beds for your extra guests. Each condo has hammock hooks and a hammock so you can take your mid-afternoon siesta inside and live as the locals do!

The bedroom with a king size bed is open to the living area and there is one large bathroom that is accessed from the bedroom or the kitchen. The very spacious bathroom features a custom shower-tub combo of shell terrazzo and a large vanity. The cabinetry throughout the condo is custom made from local mahogany.

The fully equipped kitchen comes stocked with soft drinks, beers, liquors, snacks, and breakfast foods to start your day. Pay for what you use and the maid will re-stock your provisions as you need them. Sip your coffee at the breakfast bar or outside on your private balcony.

There is a full-time manager on the property to assist you and make your stay the most enjoyable it can be. Free WiFi and daily maid service are included with your rental. Laundry service for your personal clothing is available on site for a small fee.

While Condumel is very popular with divers, it is also a great romantic getaway!

Great Location - Quiet and Peaceful
Bencher319
Our first visit to Cozumel and we got lucky by staying at Condumel - Our condo was on the first floor - so within a few steps you could be snorkeling or just relaxing on the beach, We had a little wind but even with that the snorkeling was great - lots of fish and very clear - The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to insure we had a good visit. We leaned a few things on our visit. 1. The fishing is not great in Jan regardless of what the guides say. 2. Avoid the downtown area and the main tourist attractions when there are more than 4 cruise ships in port. 3. There are a lot of really great places to eat depending on what you like - Our personal favorite was LaChoza - 4. You do not need to rent a car for the entire trip but we did a couple of days to tour the island. 5. You cannot go wrong staying at Condumel

Condumel Condos!!
Lucy W
This was not our first time in Cozumel but our first time in this condominium. We found the condo to be spacious and quite comfortable. The ocean views were spectacular from the full length sliding doors. We’re used to buying our own groceries in town but they stock the fridge with some staples. Daily maid service. Good value for the money and really lovely old style Mexican touches. Read less

Peace and Tranquility
gmackenzie63
This place is a hidden gem. We stayed off season so few guests. It felt like our own villa. Room right on the sea 12m from bed to swim. Well equipped kitchen topped up everyday. Sara the manager and her team could not be more helpful and friendly. Even the Iguanas are friendly and will eat out of your hand. Snorkelling off the deck is wonderful and even got to see a passing eagle ray what it lacks in facilities (pool jacuzzi etc) is more than made up for by amazing sun sets, sea on the doorstep and distance from downtown Cozumel. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough

Wonderful place, wonderful people
Mrs S
Wish we could keep it a secret; it is such a lovely place and such extraordinary staff. Every day the sandy beach is raked and if it is good weather, the umbrellas and hammock are set out for your peaceful and happy day beside the ocean, under the palm trees. Every shade of blue is in the water; every beautiful fish is waiting for you to look at it. The rooms are super clean and each one has a view of the sea. The ladies who clean, Sofia and Patti, are swift, efficient and very pleasant people. Sara, the manageress, makes everything right if anything needs attention. The outside people, Juan, Eloy and Zaccariah keep everything exquisite, flowers, sand, everything outside and if you need a taxi Eloy will flag one for you. Bill the owner makes sure it is perfect all the time. This is the best place we have ever found. No television, good Wi Fi, lovely rooms, fantastic swimming and snorkeling and plenty of peace and quiet. Just the wind in the palm trees and the waves and some very beautiful gray birds living on the rocks.

finally made it
KnMonvacy
we had been trying to book Condumel for 2 years.....it seems to fill up quickly and now we know why....Sitting on the Caribbean on the north side of Cozumel, Condumel is known as a traditional condo property....it is well kept and reflects the old Cozumel before the huge all inclusive and beach club properties started to spring up. We heard from more than one local that this was their favorite property because it still holds the old world charm away from the daily cruise crowds. It is an easy walk into town, we are in our early 60's and made the trip many times even though we had a car. They do provide some supplies at a small, competitive price; but we chose to stock up and alternated between dining out and preparing our own meals in the complete kitchen. The units are air conditioned, but most of the time we used the ceiling fans and opened the glass doors to the deck and let the breeze do it's work. Our staff was wonderful...from the Manager Sarah who is fluent in English and Spanish to our housekeeper, we were impressed at how clean and neat the rooms were kept as well as the property...a side note: we had the same housekeeper all week which made it so much easier for us if we had a concern or when we wanted to tip her. we were able to sit on the deck and watch the sunset every evening over the ocean, which was wonderful for two geezers from Minnesnowta...If we make it back to the island we are going to be sure to book our stay at Condumel...and that would be a first for us as it is our tradition to try different properties in the places we love.....if you decide to try Condumel we hope you are as satisfied as we are...

Breathtaking view!
Kelbyeureka
We stayed in Cozumel for a week mid November and had a lovely time. We were in desperate need of some peaceful, relaxing, down time with an inspiring view. That’s exactly what we got at Condumel. When we were taken to our room, we gasped at the view. There are large sliding glass doors with screens in the living area and bedroom and louvered windows on the front door and kitchen. So this provides a constant soft breeze blowing through. It was heavenly to listen to the waves crashing just 50 feet from the building. So soothing. We actually tried to record that sound on our cell phones to listen to after we got home but the wind was too noisy in the mic. We found the bed very comfortable. It is very firm but not hard. The room was kept very clean and they had a nice selection of food and drinks in the kitchen available for purchase. Sara, the manager and the housekeepers were wonderful, welcoming and helpful. And it was always great to see the night watchman standing outside when we came back after dark. As far as the location, you will need to either do a lot of walking, take cabs to town or go the Mega and get what you need to prepare meals at the condo. We did a combination of all three. We did a lot of walking in both directions. At least once a day we walked towards town to one of 3 palapa restaurants on the beach. This took between 10-15 minutes at a leisurely pace on a safe, wide sidewalk. Our favorite place by far was Shaka. We only got to have breakfast there once, but it was wonderful and the best coffee we had all week! I think we had dinner there 3 other times. Great, chill spot with an amazing view and reggae music. La Monina was lovely as well. Sometimes we would continue walking into town from there. It is a bit of a hike, but you can always take a taxi back to the condo if you end up walking too much. We averaged 5 miles a day just exploring. But took plenty of taxis as well. Taxis are very easy to get. Just walk out to the road and stand there. A taxi will stop for you in just a couple minutes. The fare is $4-5 to the ferry or cruise ship terminal area. Just be sure to walk a couple blocks away from the waterfront to get away from the touristy area and experience the real Cozumel. If you need a constant supply of food, alcohol or a party atmosphere, this is not your kind of place. If you are looking for a place to get away from it all and experience the island in your own way, this is the place.

This place is beautiful and peaceful

My wife and I stayed for a week in April 2018. Everyone on staff, especially Sara were wonderful and very accommodating. The room was immaculate and had the most picturesque sunsets and all around great views. We laid out by the water for some great relaxing, watching the boats and cruise ships go by. The area is quiet and peaceful. It's about a fifteen minute walk to the downtown/tourist area. Panchos Backyard Café was on the way downtown and had great food/service. We are already booking our next trip to Condumel. The bed was very comfy as well. This is our new vacation spot. Thank you

This has been our secret place for many years

Have been going to Condumel yearly for nearly 15 yrs and look forward to it. I have honestly not written before for fear that it might become too crowded and we would have difficulty finding a room! We enjoy experiencing the island, its people and restaurants. The building has 6-8 apartments and the tenants are always friendly and quiet. There are people like us who return year after year to Condumel. We usually go in early June but have also been there in July as well as early August. (We are teachers). The snorkeling out the door is some of the best on the island and we have been all over the island and always found our back door to be the most satisfying. We have our own equipment. As a matter of fact, I recently saw a video on the internet for Cozumel travel and the man showed one of his favorite snorkeling sites - Condumel can be seen in the video. We like that they provide beer, juices and soda. The apartments are clean and the staff is very nice. Sarah, the manager, has been there since we started and is very efficient, we have grown quite fond of her over the years. We use taxi's and find them easy and not expensive. On our first day we go to Mega (large Walmart like place in town) by taxi for supplies, 5-10 gallon containers of water, snacks, bread, cheese, etc. We eat all of our meals in town as they are quite affordable. The island does have an assortment of cuisines. When we go the cruise lines are not as active so the town is not as busy. The ships range around 4 a day. We like to take binoculars to look out over the ocean toward Playa Del Carmen. We haven't been heading there for a while, it takes 45 minutes and though it is a nice town, we'd rather stay on the island. We usually rent a car on one day of our visit, Sarah can help with this or we go to the places around Mega. We start to look for air travel to the island around February/March. We like the walk into town it is good exercise, the restaurants and the people of the island. It is not dangerous. On Sundays it is quiet in town, there are no ships and we enjoy being amidst the people as they enjoy their town. We rise early so don't know about the night life. There is security, a watchman 24/7. The apartment sits near the President of Mexico's summer home. There is an Army base across the street and the Naval base is in town. The airport is not far from Condumel. We fly in to the island as the travel from Cancun airport is very extensive. We usually fly in from Baltimore/DC area and WE LEAVE THE PREMISES OF THE COZUMEL AIRPORT to get a taxi home. We have found the ride quicker, cheaper and we like to go for food somewhere close before we head to Condumel. Anyone with questions, please ask, my husband and I are most willing to give you any information you desire. Happy Travels. We are returning again this early June

Fantastic place and very peaceful
Mrs S
If you like looking at the ocean of many shades of blue, palm trees in the gentle breeze and jumping into clear and sparkling water, this is your place. The condos are very well furnished and everything you need is there. The bath tubs are huge and there is wonderful hot water for lounging in after that long swim and salty and sun tanned feeling. The beds are super comfortable. The housekeepers make your unit clean and gorgeous! The rooms are so peaceful and elegant after they have finished. All the staff are super nice. There are masses of interesting fish to look at if you like snorkeling. You can lie under a palm tree or a blue umbrella and read a book and be distracted by the birds singing and the boats going back and forth. The waves go splash crash from their wakes. You will go to sleep counting all the different shades of blue........... This is the ultimate place for escaping to Paradise. Stay as long as you can!

Perfect for relaxing
Ron Dreizer
We went here in september 2017 and we where the only ones, cause other guests cancelled due true hurricanes in their country. We had everything for ourselves! The sea is beautiful for snorkling, a lot of coral, fish and very clear. The private beach is just perfect. We saw a lot big and small fish, blowfish, eels and even a Manta ray. We woke up with sea view from the bed. The center can be reached by foot in 15 - 20 minutes, or by taxi for 4 USD. You can walk to a nearby restaurant in 10 minutes where they serve great seafood. You have a complete kitchen and can buy things from the fridgle like water, coffee, drinks, beer. We took the taxi to from the big MEGA supermarket for 5 euro and bought everything we needed. The bed was good, the bathroom was big, chairs on the beach perfect, hammock, snorkling gear. There is security on the property to help you and watch over you. Everyday the cleaning is done. The internet worked perfect. I realy can't think of anything that could be better. Take some mosquito spray for the walk to the city, sometimes there are mosquitos. In the apartment and on the beach are not much mosquito's. The weather was great beginning of september. Not all rooms are published on hotel websites, better contact them if they rooms available
